Purchasing Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE

Tortuga Rum Company is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our Procurement and Supply Chain function — helping ensure timely procurement, accurate inventory, and strong demand planning across the business. It's a great entry point for someone looking to build a long-term career in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Key Duties and Additional Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Raise and manage purchase orders, and follow up with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and delivery
• Monitor inventory levels, support replenishment planning, and maintain accurate ERP records
• Assist with demand forecasting using historical sales data and market trends
• Build strong supplier relationships and collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, and Warehouse teams
• Prepare purchasing and inventory reports, and support stocktakes and reconciliations

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma + 2–4 years' experience, or a Certificate/Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics + 1–2 years'
• Experience within wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing
• Experience using ERP or inventory management systems, and purchasing software
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel ability
• Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing, and the ability to maintain vendor relationships
• Exposure to demand planning or inventory forecasting, and an understanding of supply chain principles
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail, initiative, and accountability, with a commercially aware, continuous-improvement mindset
