About this role

Purchasing Assistant

Location: Leyland (HQ)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Ready to take the next step in your supply chain career?

At Victorian Plumbing, we’re the UK’s leading online bathroom retailer, and we move fast. To keep up with our growth, we need a sharp, organised, and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our busy stock and buying team.

If you thrive on getting stuck into the detail, keeping suppliers on point, and keeping a high-volume stock operation running without a hitch, this is the role for you. No endless, repetitive days here—you’ll be right at the heart of our commercial operations.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

You’ll play a key role in keeping our stock moving smoothly from suppliers right through to our customers.

  • Supplier Coordination: Build Purchase Orders, track incoming stock deliveries, and act as the main point of contact for key supplier updates.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor lead times, update ETAs across our internal systems, and proactively chase up delays before they impact operations.

  • Order Support: Work closely with Customer Service, Trade, and Resolutions teams to answer stock queries and clear order blockers fast.

  • Problem Solving: Resolve delivery discrepancies, handle invoice and credit queries with the accounts team, and keep stock data accurate.

  • Reporting: Maintain day-to-day purchasing reports to give the wider team clear visibility on stock availability.

What we’re looking for

We don't expect you to know our internal systems from day one—we’ll train you up on those. What matters most is your drive, attention to detail, and ability to keep things moving in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Organised & Driven: Exceptional time management skills with a knack for managing competing priorities.

  • Great Communicator: Confident, clear written and verbal communication for dealing with external suppliers and internal teams.

  • Problem-Solver: A proactive approach to spotting issues early and getting them sorted efficiently.

  • Data Savvy: Comfortable working with spreadsheets, stock reports, and internal admin systems.

  • Team Player: Calm under pressure, reliable, and keen to support the wider team goals.

Why join Victorian Plumbing?

We’ve grown from a small operation into an industry leader, and we haven't lost the energy that got us here. You'll join a welcoming, down-to-earth team where your hard work is recognised, with plenty of room to build a lasting career in procurement and supply chain.
