QA Lead

We're hiring a senior, hands‑on QA professional to join one of our delivery teams working with a European private equity and alternative assets firm. You'll be the first QA hire on this account, so you'll help shape how QA is done from the start. You'll work with the team's principal engineers to set the testing approach for modern web applications that are built with AI and that also have AI and agentic features inside them.

You'll work directly with the delivery team and the client's stakeholders, without extra layers in between. This is an individual‑contributor role at first, and the account has room to grow the QA function over time.

What you'll do

• Own and shape the QA and test automation approach for the client's applications, working alongside principal engineers and developers.
• Design, build and maintain automated test suites, mainly in Playwright with TypeScript.
• Test applications that have AI and agentic functionality built in: define how to validate non‑deterministic behaviour, output quality and failure modes.
• Use AI tools, especially Claude Code, to speed up test creation, tooling and defect triage.
• Build or contribute to agentic testing frameworks and internal QA tooling.
• Run API and end‑to‑end testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Present test strategy, findings and quality risks clearly to client stakeholders.
• Work in a regulated setting: you'll have access to code and test environments only, not production data.

Requirements

About you

• Proven experience as a QA Lead or Senior Test Engineer with a strong automated testing background
• Hands‑on experience testing systems that have AI or LLM features built into them.
• Strong communication skills: you can present your work and speak with confidence in front of client stakeholders.
• Willingness to stay very hands‑on while also shaping ways of working.

Strong pluses

• Playwright (our current tool). Selenium or Cypress experience also counts.
• TypeScript and Next.js.
• Claude Code, especially in the terminal, for test and tool development.
• Experience building agentic or AI‑driven testing frameworks.
• AWS, especially Docker containers on ECS Fargate.
• Fintech experience, ideally in private equity or alternative assets.
• Experience working with UK or European clients in regulated industries.
