Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description:


• Performs physical and visual inspections of components and product assemblies to verify conformance to specifications and product drawings.


• Performs performance-based testing of components and assemblies using defined test procedures.


• Performs measurements (hand and automated) of complex parts, raw materials, and assemblies.


• Records inspection and test results and documents in a test report summary.


• Participant in Continuous Improvement and Scrap Reduction Activities


• Support Corrective Action Process


• Maintains records of product evaluations.


• Collaborates with the Quality Team to create and document test methods for products new to Calphalon.


• Provides test summary to cross-functional team.


• Maintains samples / sample identification for finished goods.


• Perform product and / or process audits per scheduled frequency.


• Perform other related duties as delegated by supervision



Functional Skills Required


• Technical aptitude, required


• Computer Knowledge, required


• Experience with various CMM programs, preferred


• Manual or automated CMM experience, preferred


• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.


• Ability to determine proper measurement methods (process and equipment) utilizing engineering drawings and/or specifications.


• Attention to detail


• Data collection experience, preferred


• Ability to reliably and repeatedly follow written procedures when performing inspection and test work.


• Proficient in the use of hand tools and measuring instruments (force gages, calipers, micrometres, etc.), preferred


• Ability to write Instructions clearly and concisely


• Microsoft Office, preferred


Minimum Qualifications


• Associate Degree in a technical discipline or 3 years applicable experience is preferred.


• Relevant experience in quality evaluation, inspection, and testing, is preferred.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Technical aptitude and computer knowledge, required


• Knowledge and willingness to learn Facility CMM software system


• Respect all safety precautions regarding performance testing, moving test equipment and chemical handling.


• Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time.


• Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
