Refrigeration & HVAC Technician - 1st Shift

They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the teamlocatedinDevault, PAas aRefrigeration &HVAC Technician.

This position willbe responsible forproviding general mechanical and electrical maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and building related tocommercialHVAC. Other tasks include working with production to increaseefficienciesand reduce downtime, providing preventative maintenance,andassistwith completing work orders.

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installing,maintainingand repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment

• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on all HVAC systems,including defrosting evaporators.

• Test setups for air or gas leaks using specialized pressure gauges.

• Checkrefrigerantlevels and recharge systems according to SOP’s and environmentalguidelines.While recovering and storingrefrigerantssafely tocomply withEPAguidelines.

• Experience in welding,brazingand soldering piping.

• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment

• Cleaning, adjusting, andrepairing condenserand evaporator coils.

• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently

• Ensuring compliance withOSHA guidelines

• Responsible for all equipment for manufacturing, distributing, andmaintainingsafe quality food by following good manufacturing practices, food defense,HACCP, SQFrequirements, and HVACtemperatures

• Maintain maintenance standards for efficiencies, continuous improvement, safety, andquality

• Responsible formaintainingand servicing production equipment, completing work orders, and documentingactivities

• Maximize OEE, fulfilling preventative and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, BBSO’s, and driving correctiveactions

• Setup andoperatevarious power tools andequipment

• Troubleshooting skills both in electrical and mechanical

• Participating in Energy efficiency / cost saving projects

• Operating powered industrial equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, etc.)

• Operating exhaust and ventilation systems, along withmaintainingpressure dependentareas

• Adhere to all facility policies concerningsafety,andsecurity.

• Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requestsin a timelymanner

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:

• High school diploma,GEDor suitable equivalent

• 5+years experienceas an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field

• Possess a Type 4Universal EPAcertification

• Valid driver's license

• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration,and heating

• Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols

• Ammonia experience a plus.

Other qualifications:

• Sheet metalfabrication;welding (TIG, MIG, Stick experience needed); soldering

• Arc flashing training / OSHAknowledge

• CMMS software knowledge

• Excellent written,verbaland interpersonal skills

• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans

• Knowledge/experience in food/beverage manufacturing facility

• Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or nonotice

• Work flexible shifts asrequired

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.

• Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, occasionallylifting upto 50 lbs., reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.

• Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.

• Positionlocatedin a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.

• This position will berequiredto visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.

• Requiredto work outside in external temperatures from below freezing to extreme heat, including external weatherconditions.
