Frances Perry House is a leading private maternity and women’s health hospital in Melbourne.

The hospital accommodates 93 beds including surgical and maternity units, Level 4 Special Care Nursery, 6 birthing suites, 4 operating theatres, a day surgery unit and urodynamics procedure room.

We are seeking experienced and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative team in a dedicated Scrub/Scout role. Work in a supportive team environment and provide our patients with specialised and dedicated care.  

Our theatre specialties include:

• Obstetrics
• Gynaecology
• Urogynaecology
• Plastic Surgery
• Breast Surgery
• Robotic Surgery
• IVF and fertility procedures

As a Scrub/Scout Nurse, you will play an integral role in the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider theatre team to ensure every procedure runs smoothly.

The role includes:

• Providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care
• Working as both a Scrub/Scout Nurse across a variety of procedures
• Preparing and maintaining the operating theatre, equipment and instrumentation
• Maintaining strict aseptic technique and infection-control standards
• Anticipating the needs of the surgical team
• Participating in surgical counts and maintaining accurate documentation
• Contributing to a positive, respectful and team-focused theatre environment

About You:

You will be a trained nurse with exceptional customer service, confident communication, and strong interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:

• Minimum 2 years' perioperative experience as a Scrub/Scout nurse
• Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• Registered with AHPRA
• Experienced in a perioperative environment
• Confident working in the scrub/scout role
• Well organised, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure
• Committed to patient safety and high standards of clinical care
• A strong communicator and team player
• Enthusiastic about developing and expanding their perioperative skills

Experience across our specialties is highly regarded, although we welcome applications from nurses with strong perioperative experience who are keen to broaden their skills.
