Renewable Energy / Wind Power Intern

In Southeast Asia, AFRY is a leading power-sector consulting and engineering company, with regional offices including Bangkok. Our teams work on a wide range of renewable energy and power projects across Southeast Asia and internationally.

As our renewable energy business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated Renewable Energy / Wind Power Intern to join our team in Bangkok, Thailand.

The intern will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced wind energy engineers and consultants and gain practical exposure to real renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia and internationally. The role will provide hands-on experience in areas such as wind resource assessment, energy yield analysis, technical due diligence, engineering data analysis, software tools and automation.

Preferred internship duration: 4–6 months, with flexibility depending on university requirements and candidate availability.

Applicants must already have the legal right to live and work in Thailand. AFRY is unable to provide visa or work permit sponsorship for this internship.

 

• Support wind energy engineers and consultants in ongoing renewable energy projects.

• Assist with wind resource assessment and energy yield analysis.

• Support the preparation and processing of technical and project data.

• Assist in developing engineering tools, data-processing workflows and automation using Python, Excel or similar software.

• Support technical due diligence and renewable energy project development activities.

• Perform data analysis, quality checks and preparation of technical information for engineering studies and reports.

• Support the team with research and other technical tasks related to wind and renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Energy or Renewable Energy Engineering

  • Computer Science or Computer Engineering

  • Data Science or Statistics

  • Physics or Mathematics

  • Other relevant technical disciplines

Technical Skills

• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python and/or Microsoft Excel.

• Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis.

• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, MATLAB or similar analytical tools is an advantage.

• Interest in engineering software development, data processing and automation.

• Previous exposure to wind energy, GIS or renewable energy software is an advantage but not required.

Other Skills

• Strong interest in wind energy, renewable energy and engineering applications.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

• Willingness to learn new technical concepts, engineering methods and software.
