Research Engineer
AI Summary
Research Engineer designs and implements novel research ideas, builds production-ready agent workflows, and collaborates with researchers and engineers to advance AI-driven agents across domains.
About this role
Join our team of innovators and help build the future of sovereign AI. We are looking for passionate individuals who share our vision.
If you’re excited by big missions, love operating at the edge of what’s possible, and want to help build something with real impact from the ground up, you’ll feel right at home here.
If you’re passionate, curious, mission-driven, and eager to make meaningful impact, your adventure starts here. Bring your integrity, your enthusiasm, and your craft.
This is your invitation to join us on the journey — and help chart the path forward.
The Role
As a Research Engineer, you design and implement novel research ideas, ship state-of-the-art agents workflow to production, maintain deep connections to academia, contribute to advancing AI-driven agents across various domains. You will design experiments, build prototypes, run rigorous evaluations, and ship reliable workflows closing the loop from idea → measurement → deployment.
The Responsibilities
Involved in the development of our agentic applications: II-Agent, Common Ground, etc
Incorporating cutting-edge AI research on autonomous agents into the Intelligent Internet framework, exploring and implementing novel techniques to enhance agent intelligence and efficiency.
Paper re-implementation & benchmark-driven iteration: read, reproduce, and re-implement key agentic research papers, then integrate validated techniques into our agentic framework to improve performance on widely used agent benchmarks (e.g., success rate, reliability, cost/latency) and internal evaluation suites.
Technical communication: write clear technical blog posts and/or internal papers to document experiments, methodologies, results, and lessons learned, so findings are reproducible and can be adopted across the team.
Collaborating with other agent researchers/ engineers, PMs, and designers to turn product needs into technical solutions.
The Requirements
Must Have Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
4+ years of experience in full-stack and backend development
Deep experience with modern backend and frontend technologies
Strong Python proficiency with solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, code quality, debugging, performance).
Familiarity with LLM/agentic concepts: tool use, planning, memory, RAG, multi-agent workflows, prompt/program orchestration.
Nice to Have Requirements
Active GitHub repository
Publications, technical blogs, or open-source contributions related to LLMs/agents
Experience re-implementing research papers end-to-end
Familiarity with agent benchmarks and evaluation tooling (e.g., SWE-bench style tasks, agentic benchmarks, custom harnesses).
Experience with LLM training or adaptation (SFT, preference tuning/RLHF, distillation) and/or retrieval systems (RAG, rerankers)
The Right Person
Passion for AI, problem-solving, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible
Creative and proactive, never wait for tasks
Tech-savvy/human first and eager to learn new technology and practices

Weekly team lunches, birthday treat, and other company engagement activities
The Process
HR Interview: If shortlisted, you will be invited to a 20-30 minute call with HR covering role expectations, work culture, and any related logistical details
Assignment: You will be given a technical assignment to submit within a few days to be considered for the next round
Technical Interviews: Discuss your knowledge and experience in coding, systems design, or research with technical team and team lead (on-site participation in Ho Chi Minh City encouraged)
Final Interview: Discuss research directions & concluding conversation with senior leadership.
