Research Engineer I (Engineering and Materials Science)

NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited (“Nanofilm”, “NTI”), Nanyang Technological University (“NTU”) and supported by Singapore under RIE2025. The Laboratory’s objective is to propel Innovation and Technologies commercialisation through NTU’s innovation and NTI’s deep technology. NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory aligns with Singapore’s RIE2025 handbook – which emphasises the nation’s commitment to research and innovation, aiming to drive economic growth and address national challenges.

The Nanyang Technological University NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is looking for a Research Engineer to oversee equipment operations, processes and maintenance for a safe, efficient environment. Responsible for coordinating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading a team towards successful research and development outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee research equipment operations, ensuring safety and efficiency of research activities in Corp Lab. Uphold all relevant health and safety regulations from university within the laboratory.

• Running of equipment processes and maintenance of equipment to keep it in optimal conditions.

• Coordinate equipment scheduling, delivery, and maintenance together with researchers and project PIs

• Lead and train laboratory research staff and students, fostering a collaborative environment.

• Stay updated on technological advancements and implement quality controls.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related field.

• Research and development knowledge in nanotechnologies and thin film technologies are highly sought.

• Proven experience as a Equipment Engineer/Process Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on equipment management.

• In-depth understanding of research laboratory equipment, operations, and principles.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining robust working relationships.
