Purpose of the department:

The purpose of the housekeeping department is to ensure that the hotel is clean, well-maintained, and comfortable for guests. The housekeeping department is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house areas such as staff rooms and storage areas. The housekeeping department plays a crucial role in ensuring that the hotel meets or exceeds guest expectations for cleanliness and service, which can impact guest satisfaction and the hotel's reputation and profitability. The department works closely with other hotel departments such as front desk, maintenance, and food and beverage to ensure that guest needs are met, and that the hotel operates smoothly and efficiently.

Job Profile:

A housekeeping room attendance, is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable environment for guests in the Resort. Some of the key responsibilities of a housekeeping room attendants include:

Cleaning and maintaining guest rooms: This involves changing bed linens, and the cleaning of bed frames and headboards. sweep, mop, vacuum and dust all surface areas in the room including the use of a sticky roller, the deep cleaning of the bathroom, and restocking of amenities.

Asure the cleaning of the balcony, frame, railing, floor and the door glasses.

Asure the cleanliness of the TV front and back.

Asure that all furniture all dust free

Asure that the kitchen and coffee areas are cleaned and that all amenities are present.

Asure that the living room area and furniture are cleaned and in good condition

Ensure that all equipment is functional and in good condition.

Ensure guest satisfaction: Housekeeping room attendants must ensure that guests have everything they need during their stay and respond quickly to any requests or complaints.

Follow safety and security procedures: This includes locking doors and windows, reporting any suspicious activity, and following proper cleaning protocols to prevent the spread of germs and disease.

Maintain inventory: Housekeeping room attendants are responsible for keeping track of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other amenities needed to maintain guest rooms.

Communicate with other hotel team members: Housekeeping room attendant must work closely with other hotel team members, such as front desk agents and maintenance workers, to ensure that guest needs are met, and the resort runs smoothly.

  • Ability to use hotel provided electronic devices, including but not limited to, radios, cell phones, and tablets.
  • Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
