Safety and Health Officer

Main Responsibilities

• To develop, implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations to ensure a safe working envitonment
• To carry out risk assessment for our different facilities and take remedial actions to eliminate identified risks
• To carry out monthly safety visits and audits for our different facilities
• To identify and conduct or organise regular training sessions for employees on health and Safety procedures, emergency response plans and on other H & S topics
• To lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries or near-miss incidents. Prepare reports and recomment corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• To develop and implement emergency response plans including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols
• To ensure that the organisation provides appropriate PPE and that it is correctly used by all employees.
• To assist in the running of Health & Safety Committees
• To regularly prepare and submit reports to management highlighting areas of concern and improvement
• To work closely with other departments to address safety concerns and foster a culture of safety throughout the organisation
• Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Passionate about Safety and Health
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health
• Proven experience (3 years) as a Safety and Health Officer
• Strong knowledge of health and Safety regulations and practices
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations
• Proficient in MS office
