Safety Specialist | Newport, DE

Responsibilities

HazTek is seeking a Safety Professional to provide on-site support for a building improvement project. This individual will work with project personnel and contractors to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and support compliance with site safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site walks and document safety observations.
• Review work activities for potential hazards, with particular attention to lockout/tagout and fall protection.
• Communicate safety concerns to field crews and project leadership and follow up on corrective actions.
• Participate in safety meetings and assist with incident reporting as needed.
• Maintain project safety documentation and support compliance with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Construction safety experience
• OSHA 30
• Experience with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and fall protection
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with contractors in an active construction environment
• Experience working around combustible materials is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written skills
