Safety Supervisor - Primoris Heavy Civil - Louisiana

Job Summary

The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs and policies for Primoris Heavy Civil projects in Louisiana, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Job Responsibilities

* Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
* Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures in collaboration with project management.
* Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Provide safety training and orientation to new and existing employees, including hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency procedures.
* Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, incident reports, and corrective action documentation.
* Communicate effectively with project management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety matters.
* Promote a strong safety culture through regular communication, positive reinforcement, and active engagement with the workforce.
* Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
* Stay up-to-date on industry safety best practices and regulatory changes.

Job Qualifications

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role within heavy civil construction.
* OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required; CHST or CSP preferred.
* Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and best practices.
* Proven ability to conduct effective safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within Louisiana.
