Scalamandré Fabric – Sample Librarian

Location: Stamford, CT

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Setting: On-Site

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary

Scalamandré is seeking a full-time Sample Librarian for our Stamford, CT showroom. In this role, you will be the steward of our sample library, a curated collection of luxury fabrics, wallcoverings, and trimmings relied upon by the country’s most discerning interior designers.

Working alongside our Account Managers, you will ensure every sample request is fulfilled with precision, every display reflects the standard of the brand, and every client visit feels effortless. Responsibilities

Sample Library & Inventory Management

• Maintain the showroom sample library, filing returned samples in their correct locations
• Order, label, and replenish fabric, wallcovering, and trimming samples to keep the library fully stocked
• Track samples loaned to interior designers and clients; follow up on overdue returns
• Conduct regular sample counts to keep inventory records and locations accurate

Sample Requests & Sales Support

• Receive and fill sample requests for Account Managers, designers, and clients accurately and on time
• Pull samples for client appointments; support the sales team on the showroom floor as needed
• Ship and receive sample packages via UPS and FedEx, ensuring accurate tracking
• Represent Scalamandré with polish and professionalism in every client interaction
• Receive and merchandise new collections for showroom displays and wings
• Maintain displays to the highest standard of presentation, accurate and current at all times
• Maintain sample and placement spreadsheets; enter new product information as collections arrive
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced showroom environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Preferred

• 1+ year of experience in a showroom, sample library, retail, or inventory role
• Background or coursework in textiles, interior design, or fashion
• Experience with an inventory management or ERP system
