Security Guard

Position Summary:

The Security Guard is responsible for protecting our facility and its occupants by tracking & controlling access, responding to alarms/ emergencies, and monitoring surveillance systems.

• Required to work rotating 12 hour shifts (days and nights) – over 7 day work weeks (including holidays)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Screen, monitor, and direct all people and vehicles entering the facility.
• Detain unidentified personnel & vehicles until verified.
• Notify the appropriate personnel of appointments & visitors.
• Keep truck logs in the security office for viewing if required.
• Check and direct all incoming and outgoing commercial vehicles.
• Attend to the phone system and forward calls to the appropriate people.
• Respond to alarms by contacting the appropriate personnel.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid security guard license
  
• Minimum 1 year security experience
• Knowledgeable and capable of handling plant security incidents: fire, injury, trespassing.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
  
• High level of professionalism
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
