Tetūranga– The role and your impact 

As a Senior Analyst in Prudential Supervision,you’llconduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis acrossthe insurance sector. You’ll assess prudential risk profiles, make well-formed judgements and help implement effective supervisory strategies to mitigate identified risks. You’ll prepare high-quality advice for managers, senior leaders and Reserve Bank committees, and communicate complex work clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Working collaboratively across the Directorate and Financial Stability Group, you’ll engage with regulated entities at management,executive and board level,be involved withanalytical projects,andsupport continuous improvement.

We’relooking for aproactive andcollaborativeSenior Analystwhobringssoundjudgement,strong analyticaland research capability, and the confidence tocommunicatecomplex information clearly.To be successful in this role,you willbring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, statistics, data science,financeor a related discipline.

  • Astrong understanding ofbanking, insurance, financial markets, law, accounting, macroeconomics, economics or a central bank environmentispreferred.

  • A solid understanding of New Zealand’s financial system, including the interactions between the economy, financial institutions and prudential regulation, ora strong desireto build this knowledge.

  • Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to assess qualitative and quantitative information,identifyprudential risks and recommend practical responses.

  • Experience designing data collections or undertaking policy analysis would beadvantageous.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make technical information accessible to different audiences.

  • The proven ability to build andmaintaineffective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including confidence engaging at management, executive and board level.

  • A proactive,resilientand collaborative approach, sound judgement, and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues.

  • Knowledge and application ofTeTiritio Waitangi, and a commitment toTeAo Māori, diversity, equity, inclusion, and a safe and healthy workplace.

  • Eligibility to obtain andmaintaintheappropriate levelof New Zealand National Security Clearance, ifrequired.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $128,699 to $150,149 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
