Senior Analytics Engineer
AI Summary
A Senior Analytics Engineer develops the DWH core model, streaming ETL framework, and data products on Databricks, collaborating with data engineers and business stakeholders to support data-driven decisions.
About this role
Finom is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our newly formed and high-performing Data Team. We're building a Data Delivery Platform on Databricks, and we’d love to bring someone on board who’s excited to shape things from the ground up.
Our goal is to build a modern, self-service Data Platform that supports business growth and gives Finom a competitive edge through faster and higher-quality data-driven decisions.
You'll report to the Head of Data Platform and join a small, senior team with a flat structure. As the platform and its user base grow quickly, you'll have the freedom — and the mandate — to take real ownership: starting by delivering the data products our consumers rely on, and growing into an area of the platform that you drive autonomously, with the team's support.
What You Will Be Doing
This is not your typical plug-and-play role — the team is new, and so is the platform. That means plenty of freedom, responsibility, and challenges to tackle:
Develop the DWH core model that transforms raw Kafka topics into documented, easy-to-use data products that bring value to data consumers (ML engineers, data analysts, and domain representatives).
Collaborate closely with data engineers to develop our streaming ETL framework and improve its reliability and user experience.
Help the team deliver new features and maintain the existing ones in the OpenMetadata data catalog.
Actively participate in data quality and data governance tools and processes implementations.
Partner with data consumers across the business, supporting their daily data needs and turning requirements into reliable, well-documented data products.
Tackle unique challenges that come with building a Data Platform from scratch.

As a result of three months you’ve finished with the backlog cleanup and started to support our customers with their daily data needs.

Our customers perceive you as a trusted data partner - not as a newbie.
