Senior Application Design Engineer (System Platform)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Application Design Engineer (System Platform) to join our Digital Solutions team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing industrial automation and SCADA solutions using AVEVA System Platform and related technologies.

You will work closely with customers, project teams, and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality automation solutions, support digital transformation initiatives, and contribute to Unified Operations Centers (UOC), data integration, visualization, and analytics projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and maintain AVEVA System Platform (ASP) applications.
• Develop SCADA and HMI solutions based on customer requirements and project specifications.
• Perform system integration activities with PLCs, RTUs, databases, and third-party systems.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and site support activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to ensure reliable plant operations.
• Prepare technical documentation, functional design specifications, and user manuals.
• Support digitalization initiatives including dashboards, KPI monitoring, and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support and customer training when required.

Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, SCADA, or control systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AVEVA System Platform (ASP).
• Strong understanding of SCADA, HMI development, and system integration.
• Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, and industrial automation architectures.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA and Modbus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel for project and commissioning activities when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AVEVA Plant SCADA (Citect) and/or Emerson SCADA.
• Knowledge of Data Center BMS, EPMS, or Unified Operations Center (UOC) solutions.
• Experience with SQL databases and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with MQTT, REST APIs, and industrial networking concepts.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or VBA.
• Understanding of cloud-based SCADA, IIoT platforms, and digitalization solutions.
• Relevant AVEVA certifications are a plus.
