As a Senior Clinical Planner, you will be spearheading project work from Pre-Design through to construction. Collaborating with talented colleagues, you will work directly with clients to develop plans that balance clinical needs with human experience and design. We anticipate that a successful candidate has the following characteristics:
  • 10+ years of experience working with a Healthcare Design Practice.
  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
  • Eligibility for provincial architectural registration (i.e. OAA, AAA, or AIBC).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with experience in preparing and delivering presentations as well as leading clinical user group meetings and working with senior hospital leaders.
  • Experience leading the design of clinical departments from predesign through to construction documentation. Experience applying modern healthcare planning principles, including patient safety, evidence-based design, building codes and accessibility guidelines.
  • Basic Revit skills are required; proficiency is an asset. Our team works in a BIM environment.
  • Knowledge of the medical equipment planning process and experience collaborating with medical equipment planners.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead and take leadership of overall building strategies, departmental relationships and departmental plans. Complete work in all project phases including Master Planning, feasibility studies, Design, Construction Documentation and Contract Administration.
  • Present key design ideas and lead user group meetings.
  • Support the mentorship and growth of junior and intermediate professionals including working alongside and overseeing work.
  • Work collaboratively and coordinate effectively with both internal and external disciplines across every phase of the project.
  • Contribute to establishing and sustaining the studio's design culture.
