Position Summary

A CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing) Equipment Engineer is a specialized technical professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of the tools used to planarize (flatten) semiconductor wafers.

The core objective of this role is to ensure that CMP tools operate with maximum availability (uptime) and stability, ensuring that the mechanical and chemical delivery systems precisely execute the process recipes to achieve nanometer-scale flatness without introducing defects.

Role and Responsibilities

• Tool Installation and Qualification.

• Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Hardware Upkeep.

• Process Stability and Optimization.

• Defect Reduction and Troubleshooting.

• Tool Availability and Uptime Management.

• Safety and Environmental Compliance.

• Technical Proficiency in Schematics & Blueprints.

• Commissioning and Validation of Facilities Systems.

• Project & Time Management.

• Adaptability and Field Problem-Solving.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field
• Proficiency in Technical Documentation: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, electrical schematics
• Hands-on Equipment or Instruments Competency: Demonstrated ability to be successful with physical interaction with hardware
• Safety Certifications and Compliance Knowledge
• Certification or documented training in LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and OSHA (or equivalent regional) general industry safety standards
• Field Experience (Commissioning/Installation): A minimum of 4 years of experience in equipment commissioning, field service, or industrial maintenance.

The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
