Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Full-Stack/Backend Engineer to drive the design, development, and optimization of our data systems and user-facing applications. In this role, you will take ownership of technical projects spanning robust backend architectures and modern frontend interfaces, ensuring efficient data processing and an exceptional user experience. You will collaborate closely with traders, engineers, and cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance while helping shape the future of our commodity trading platforms.


Key Responsibilities

• Backend Architecture & Data Processing
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex data architectures including databases (e.g., Vertica, PostgreSQL, Redis) and large-scale processing systems.
  • Design and implement data pipelines, workflow management, and ETL systems to ensure data accuracy and uniformity.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning algorithms and generate analytical reports that enhance decision-making.
• Full-Stack Development & Frontend Integration
  • Architect and build scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs that integrate seamlessly with modern frontend applications.
  • Design, develop, and test UI components for web and mobile platforms using frameworks such as Vue.js or React.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, optimizing for speed, scalability, and real-time data visualization (via Charting Libraries/D3.js, Plotly.js, and WebSockets).
• Collaboration & Technical Guidance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members through code reviews and the adoption of best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally to translate business and traders’ needs into robust technical solutions.
• Performance & Quality Assurance
  • Establish and enforce best practices to boost system reliability, performance, and data quality.
  • Proactively identify process improvements and drive initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and cost management, particularly within AWS environments.

Qualifications

Must-Have:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Experience: At least 5 years in backend or full-stack development with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects, including 5 years of hands-on Python experience. Prior experience in the commodity trading sector is highly preferred.

• Backend Expertise:
  - Proficiency in designing and maintaining databases and data processing systems.
  - Strong programming skills in Python and Node.js.

- Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS, including deployment, scaling, and cost management.

• Frontend & Full-Stack Skills:
  - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue.js or React).
  - Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and real-time data visualization using charting libraries and WebSockets.
  - Familiarity with integration technologies such as Python, Node.js, SQL, and version control systems (preferably Git).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Turkish.

Highly Preferred:
• Industry Expertise: Experience in commodity trading with a strong grasp of market dynamics.
• Additional Technical Skills:
  - Experience with BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  - Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Soft Skills:
  - Exceptional problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive drive for innovation.
  - Capacity to thrive in fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities.
