Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to multiple internal stakeholders (Business, Marketing, GR, Tax, Data Privacy,) on a daily basis
- Review and advise on advertising materials and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Conduct legal research on LATAM regulations, not just Peruvian law (Consumer protection, advertising, administrative law), monitor legislative changes, and draft legal memos.
- Review draft bills and law initiatives.
- Assess legal risks and provide practical recommendations, including potential business and product adjustments.
- Support and coordinate contractual work, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for key partnerships.
- Handle user claims and administrative procedures with authorities (e.g., INDECOPI).
- Prepare compliance checklists and support implementation of required legal adjustments.
- Act as a project manager in cross-functional legal initiatives, ensuring alignment and compliance across teams.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- English language proficiency required.
- Strong experience in civil law, media/marketing/advertising regulation, consumer protection regulation, pre-litigation claims resolution, general experience in labor law, and commercial law/contracts. Experience in data protection, intellectual property, or antitrust is a plus.
- Experience at an international company is a plus.
Either:
- (a) 4 years of working experience in a law firm providing legal guidance to clients in the IT business, ride-hailing, delivery platforms, marketplaces, or any digital platform; or
- (b) 5 years of experience as an in-house lawyer at a tech or startup company.
Plus one or more of the following:
- Experience in ride-hailing / mobility platforms (TNCs).
- Experience working with technology-driven companies.
- Exposure to delivery platforms and last-mile logistics services.
- Experience with digital marketplaces or digital platforms (two-sided platforms).
- Background in industries offering products or services through technology-enabled channels.
