We are seeking a highly experienced Senior RF Communications Engineer to support a major Aviation Client in Atlantic City, NJ. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, integration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of RF and communications systems. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with RF technologies, VHF/UHF radio systems, communications protocols, networking, VoIP, and Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities.

Responsibilities : 

• Design, configure, integrate, test, and troubleshoot RF and communications systems.
• Perform RF measurements, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting activities.
• Support analog and digital VHF/UHF radio system integration, operation, and testing.
• Develop and execute Test & Evaluation (T&E) documentation including test plans, procedures, requirements traceability matrices (VRTMs), and test reports.
• Establish, operate, and maintain communications testbeds and test environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and communication networks.
• Support VoIP systems and communication interfaces.
• Conduct communications site surveys and support facility installation activities.
• Perform requirements analysis, verification, and interface documentation support.
• Prepare technical documentation and provide project status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, RF Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in RF Communications Engineering.
• Experience with RF systems design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of RF characteristics including VSWR, gain, noise figure, impedance, output power, intermodulation, selectivity, and interference.
• Experience with RF components including amplifiers, attenuators, filters, mixers, switches, and circulators.
• Hands-on experience with analog and digital VHF/UHF radio systems.
• Experience with communications system integration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with communications protocols including TCP/IP, RS-232, RS-422, ATM, SONET, ISDN, Frame Relay, and GPIB.
• Experience with communications test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, RF power meters, protocol analyzers, and communication system analyzers.
• Experience with Test & Evaluation (T&E), test plans, test procedures, VRTMs, and test reporting.
• Knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP reference models.
• Experience configuring and maintaining routers and switches.
• Experience with VoIP protocols including SIP, RTP, and MGCP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Aviation communications systems experience.
• LabVIEW/TestStand automated test suite experience.
• Microwave radio systems experience.
• Satellite communications experience.
• Knowledge of EUROCAE ED-137.
• Experience with network simulators, traffic generators, and protocol analyzers.
• PCB design and fabrication experience.
• Software development experience with C, C++, Java, Python, Linux, RTOS, embedded systems, or object-oriented methodologies.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
