Senior RF Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Radiance Technologies is seeking a motivated, skilled, and experienced Senior RF Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team as we advance the state-of-the-art in contested electromagnetic spectrum environment modeling, simulation, and analysis. The products that you develop will be used to improve our nation’s and allies’ capability to accurately model systems and simulate interactions pertinent to electromagnetic spectrum operations under study by the US Air Force, Space Force, Department of War, and intelligence community.

We are looking for a candidate who will be working to build a highly modular system for contested electromagnetic environments and enhance the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Air Warfare Directorate (RA) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The successful candidate will design and implement the simulation framework, models, and interfaces to support holistic integration of existing models into the new simulation architecture for radio frequency (RF) systems and subsystems. Work spans controlled unclassified information and multiple classification levels. Research and development mission and team-focused hybrid or primarily in-office are appropriate for this position.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in C++, Python, Rust, or related development

• Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as git, Bitbucket, or Gitlab

• Strong communication and organizational skills, including technical leadership skills

• Self-motivated and able to work well within a team

• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools

• Experience developing software using lean Agile methodologies

• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Experience developing and using AFSIM or other RF/EMSO simulation environments

• Experience with RF sensors and communications systems and electronic warfare phenomenology and concepts

• Experience with C++20 or newer

• Experience designing and developing MS&A visualization tools and enhancements

• Experience with modern IDEs (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, etc.)

• Experience conducting quantitative analysis

• Experience modeling military systems

• Experience with Qt 6 and/or VTK toolkit

• DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility and familiarity with DoD security practices
