Role purpose. A high-performing technician who handles Pestkil's most complex, technical and high-value work and multiplies team capability — mentoring and quality-checking technicians, supporting sales conversion and key accounts, and providing technical leadership and coordination support to a very busy operations team. This is the development rung between individual contributor and formal supervision, and the primary feeder to Operations Supervisor.
What differentiates this role
- From Service Technician (individual contributor): the Senior Technician owns the hardest jobs and is accountable for others' quality and development — the on-island technical authority for termites/Sentricon, bed-bug heat treatment, and complex, audit-sensitive commercial accounts.
- From Operations Supervisor (people-leader): the Senior Technician leads through expertise and example, not formal HR authority — they do not own scheduling, discipline or performance management, and they remain primarily billable in the field.
Key responsibilities
- Own complex, priority and technical jobs — termite inspections and Sentricon baiting (as a Certified Sentricon Specialist), bed-bug heat treatments, difficult commercial and food-handling accounts, escalations and re-treatment investigations.
- Mentor and train — onboard and coach new technicians and other operations new hires; run ride-alongs; deliver toolbox and technical training; model IPM and safety best practice.
- Quality control / QA support — perform QC ride-alongs and job audits; check service notes and device maps against reports; support commercial-audit readiness.
- Sales conversion and account support — convert inspections to quotes and sales; identify and close upsell and cross-sell; support retention on assigned key accounts, with some account ownership.
- Coordination and deputizing support — help with daily scheduling and routing problem-solving, emergency cover and inventory/stock checks; deputize informally for the Supervisor on technical matters.
- Continue to perform a meaningful field route — this remains a working, billable role.
- Assists the business as and when needed on Operations departments projects or business needs

- QC pass rate on audited jobs; commercial-audit scores on supported accounts.
- Lead conversion rate (inspection → sale) and upsell revenue.
