About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Videographer & Editor to lead the creation of video content for Butlin’s across owned, earned and paid channels, including social media, our website, digital advertising and video-on-demand advertising.
You’ll proactively spot content opportunities, originate ideas and turn them into clear creative treatments and storyboards. You’ll also develop briefs from the wider team, planning and directing shoots with our team, guests and talent, and taking projects through editing, feedback and final delivery.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong filming and editing skills. You’ll also create motion graphics and animation that bring our content to life, from animated typography and branded graphics to more developed sequences where the brief requires them.
Working closely with Social, Creative, PR, Brand, Media, Entertainment and Resort teams, you’ll proactively identify opportunities, originate ideas and turn business and audience needs into distinctive video concepts. Though this role predominantly works on the family brand, you'll also work closely with the Videographer for Butlin's Big Weekenders.
Key Responsibilities
Experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating filming, editing and motion graphics or animation, with a clear explanation of your contribution to each project and how the work met its brief.
- Working knowledge of releases, usage rights, music licensing, contributor permissions, filming children, location considerations and safe production practices.
- Proven experience taking briefs from concept through to final deliverable, with strong editorial judgement and the ability to adapt style and format to the brief.
- Needs to have Broadcast/VOD delivery knowledge. Understanding of professional delivery specifications, loudness, frame rates, captions/subtitles, Clearcast/broadcast considerations where applicable, QC and asset masters.
- Background in a deadline-driven video production environment, managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Confident bringing a brand to life visually in new, creative ways.
- A collaborative people-person, comfortable building relationships across marketing, entertainment and resort teams.
Skills
- Confident independently planning and shooting high-quality video, with a strong practical understanding of camera systems, lenses, exposure, composition, camera movement and frame rates, alongside reliable on-location sound recording.
- A sound understanding of recording formats, log workflows and colour management, ensuring footage is captured and prepared appropriately for editing, grading and delivery.
- Confident planning, setting up and operating lighting for interviews, talent, indoor venues and location shoots, adapting to challenging conditions to achieve a consistent, high-quality result.
- Directing ability. Confident directing professional talent, performers, colleagues, children/families and real guests, getting natural performances while maintaining pace on busy shoots.
- Strong editing in industry-standard tools, plus motion graphics, animation, colour grading and sound mixing capability
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, including editing, motion graphics and animation, supported by confident colour grading, audio editing and mixing skills. Working knowledge of Photoshop. Able to produce content in different formats and edits tailored to different platforms.
Desirable
- Experience experimenting with AI-assisted video editing, animation, voice production or audio tools, whether through professional work or personal projects.
Requirements
- Full, clean driving licence, with flexibility to travel to our three resorts regularly, including overnight stays and weekends
- Comfortable building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders on-resort and across the wider marketing team
