We are looking for aShipboard QA & Support Analystto conductQA testing, documentation, and troubleshooting ofshipboard IT systems. This position will be full-Time and remote that requires 90% travel onboard.
What You’ll Do
Travel to cruise ships (in-service or in dry dock) to conduct on-siteQA testingand certification of hardware and software installations
Write and maintain cleartechnical documentationdescribing how systems should function, be configured, and be maintained
Survey and evaluate various software products and platforms deployed across the fleet for functionality, performance, and compliance
Identify, document, and coordinate troubleshooting or triage efforts for systems that are underperforming or malfunctioning
Coordinate with specialized internal teams to deploy to ships for incident response when critical systems go down
Serve as an on-site technical point of contact between shipboard staff and shoreside IT/engineering teams
Provide detailed trip reports and QA findings to stakeholders after each site visit
During non-travel periods, support theApplication Supportteam withremote troubleshootingof shipboard software systems
What You'll Need
Required:
2–4 years of experience as a Product Engineer, Assistant IT Manager, or similar technical role, ideally with prior shipboard/maritime experience
Strong working knowledge of IT hardware and software systems,networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting methodology
Exceptional written communication skills — able to produce clear, structured, and professional documentation
Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
Comfortable working independently in dynamic, sometimes remote environments (at sea, in port, or in dry dock)
Willing and able to travel frequently, including trips of 2–3 weeks at a time, on short notice, to destinations worldwide
Stronginterpersonal skillsto coordinate effectively across shipboard crew, IT teams, and vendors
Detail-oriented with a QA mindset — able to identify gaps between expected and actual system behavior
Preferred:
Familiarity with maritime orcruise industry IT systemsand standards
Experience withincident response coordinationin high-pressure environments
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
