About this role
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY:
- Review Adjusters reports in conjunction with policies to ensure accuracy
- Provide feedback to service providers/Brokers/Clients and make appropriate notes in 4D
- Appoint service providers and liaise and discuss settlement with adjusters
- Prepare settlement/payment for approval
- Refer complex claims to claims supervisor, after placing appropriate notes
- Notify Reinsurers of claims likely to exceed retention
- Submit details to facultative reinsurers and follow up recoveries
- Update co-insurers, re-insurers, brokers as deemed necessary
- Being alert to irregular practices for fraud and money laundering
- Work Closely with the Underwriting team, providing feedback on risks improvements and moral hazards etc
- Ensuring accuracy of assigned claim files by thoroughly reviewing the data on 4Ds
- Ensure timely updates to clients, provision of good customer service
- Ensure adequacy of Reserves
- Assist in the coordination of and participating in Periodic Claims Review
- Assist with formal training of team members within the department
- Prepare Claims Experiences for brokers/Internal Underwriters
- Prepare fronting claims reports
- Manage service providers payments
- Any other duty assigned by the Claims Manager
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- An undergraduate degree from a recognized tertiary institution and/or Insurance Diploma
- At least Five (5) years’ experience in non-motor claims handling
- Strong knowledge of the various types of non-motor policies
- Good inter-personal/customer service skills, ability to deal with the public
- Ability to negotiate a positive outcome for both company and client
- Be an avid reader/Strong analytical skills
- Above average IT familiarity and aptitude
- Ability to function under pressure, able to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Strong oral and written skills
