Software Engineer - 3D Graphics

Mountain ViewRemoteFull-time

AI Summary

A 3D Graphics Engineer builds the visual layer of the simulation platform, implementing real-time rendering, WebGL/Three.js visualizations, and integration of neural rendering methods into production pipelines.

About this role

Join Us in Building the Future of Physical AI

We build the simulation infrastructure for physical AI. We develop GenAI-powered tools that enable robotics teams to create unlimited, diverse training data and realistic evaluation environments. Our team spun out of MIT CSAIL, where we pioneered techniques that trained robots using only synthetic data. We're helping robotics companies transition to AI-native development workflows.

We're a lean team of researchers and engineers from DeepMind, OpenAI, FAIR, and top universities including MIT, Berkeley, Caltech, Harvard, and Yale. We've published best papers at top robotics conferences, won International Olympiad medals, and built core systems at leading AI labs. We believe in building complex systems that bring simplicity to our customers.

Global Team: We operate across US and China time zones. We value people who communicate proactively, document thoroughly, and take ownership of smooth handoffs across teams.

Note: Robotics experience is not required for this role. We're looking for people passionate about graphics, visual storytelling, and real-time rendering who are excited to apply their skills to robotics.

What to Expect

We're looking for a 3D Graphics Engineer to build the visual layer of our simulation platform. You'll work on cutting-edge rendering techniques including 3D Gaussian splatting and neural radiance fields, creating tools that make synthetic data indistinguishable from reality.

What You'll Do

  • Implement real-time rendering systems using modern graphics techniques

  • Build web-based 3D visualization tools using WebGL/Three.js

  • Integrate neural rendering methods (3DGS, NeRF) into production pipelines

  • Optimize rendering performance for large-scale scenes and parallel execution

  • Collaborate with ML researchers on generative 3D content

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years of graphics programming experience

  • Strong skills in WebGL, Three.js, or similar web graphics frameworks

  • Understanding of 3D math: transforms, projections, spatial data structures

  • Experience with shader development and GPU programming

  • Familiarity with modern rendering techniques

Nice to Have

  • Experience with 3D Gaussian splatting or NeRF implementations

  • Background in game development or real-time graphics

  • Familiarity with Unity/Unreal rendering pipelines

  • Experience with AR/VR development

We believe diverse teams build better products. Even if you don't meet every requirement listed, we encourage you to apply if you're excited about this role and our mission.
