Software Program Manager (Contract)

The Software Program Manager is a essential member of Alamar’s Program Management Office. They will oversee and coordinate a portfolio of related software development projects that support multiple new product development programs. They will ensure successful delivery across cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors. This role bridges technical execution and business goals, keeping programs on schedule, on budget, and aligned with organizational objectives.

As part of the PMO team, the individual also contributes to improving processes and metrics and must be comfortable operating in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the program plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and budget. Identify the need for trade-off decisions early and drive them to closure. Coordinate release schedules with other co-dependent product releases.
• Manage overall progress of the software development lifecycle, tracking work, and responding to change.
• Coordinate across development teams and manage software release process (internal and internal).
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues affecting program delivery and ensure projects deliver to expectations.
• Identify and evaluate issues in projects and develop options to address those with development teams and technology partners.
• Facilitate cross-department and cross-program communication and lead status meetings with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master's a plus)
• Proven experience as a Program Manager or Technical Program Manager with a track record of successful software delivery in the biotechnology or medical device industry.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle
• Experience with project management tools (JIRA, Microsoft Project, etc.)
• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, ITIL, or SCRUM are a plus
• Strong business acumen.
• Effective communicator with strong leadership presence, and high emotional agility.
• Demonstrated ability to manage up and drive organizational change.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $80/hour - $100/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
