Technical Writer

Duration: 7 months+

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Job Summary

Essential Functions

oInitiating and participating in cross-department activities required for timely delivery of all materials.

oResearching, writing, editing, and publishing a wide variety of technical materials in support of complex software applications, computer systems, servers, storage and

oPreparing and updating portions of software guides, online Help systems, technical papers, quick starts, evaluation tools, installation guides, Knowledge Base articles, and more.

oCollaborating with sales, architects, engineers, marketing, technical services professionals, software developers, and quality assurance analysts, to ensure that all materials produced are effective for the intended audience. Collaboration across time zones is expected.

oCoordinating with other writers to ensure consistency in terminology, styles, and standards across materials.

oContributing to the design and wording of presentations, documents and user interfaces, to improve users’ understanding.

oQuickly and effectively translating documents between English and Mandarin

oPerforming other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

oExceptional English language skills.

oExceptional Mandarin language skills.

o7+ years industry work experience in Technical Writing with software and computer systems and network products

oBachelor’s degree with outstanding performance

oExperience with Microsoft office and authoring tools.

oSelf-directed; able to independently manage projects and drive them to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

oDegree in computer science, mathematics, or other science

oMust have a demonstrated ability to organize, research, write, edit, and publish work to the highest level of quality in English.

oAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

oCourteous, helpful, collaborative person.

Self-motivated with a desire to excel.
