Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bridgeport, CT. This position will primarily focus on Accounts Receivable functions while also supporting Accounts Payable operations through cross-training. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent Excel skills, and experience working in a fast-paced distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, payment posting, reconciliations, and collections
• Assist with Accounts Payable processing and vendor support as needed
• Prepare account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Support month-end closing activities and financial reporting
• Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, V-LOOKUPS, and Pivot Tables
• Assist with the company’s transition from Sage to NetSuite
• Collaborate with the Controller and accounting team on special projects and process improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong Accounts Receivable experience required
• Experience in distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing environments preferred
• NetSuite experience highly preferred; Sage experience is a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including V-LOOKUPS and Pivot Tables
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

Additional Details:

• Onsite role located in Bridgeport, CT
• Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Reports directly to the Controller
