Due to continued growth in our services, Community Care Trust Aotearoa is looking for Support Workers to join our RIDSAS (Regional Intellectual Disability Supported Accommodation Service) team in Dunedin | Ōtepoti.

We have full-time, part-time and casual opportunities available.

Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so flexibility across a range of shifts is important, including availability for at least one weekend shift.

About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga

As a Support Worker, you’ll build meaningful relationships and support people to develop life skills, work towards their goals and connect with their communities.

Our RIDSAS service provides 24/7 specialist rehabilitation support for people with intellectual disabilities who have high and complex needs and who have had contact with the justice system.

Our approach is person-centred and strengths-based. We recognise that behaviour is a form of communication and support people with compassion, patience and trauma-informed practice.

We’re looking for people who are calm, resilient, non-judgemental and solutions-focused, with a genuine interest in helping others build confidence, independence and positive outcomes.

What we’re looking for | He aha ā mātou e rapu ana

• A full, current New Zealand driver licence

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand

• A current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to complete one at our cost

• Willingness to undergo vetting as part of our safeguarding commitment

• Availability to work regular weekend shifts

Experience in disability, mental health, justice or community support is an advantage, but not essential. Just as important is the right attitude, strong values and a genuine desire to make a difference.
