Position Description:

We are looking for a candidate to join our Survey team based out of our Taylor office. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and five or more years working in construction. Construction staking experience is required and MDOT experience is preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and demonstrates strong communication and multitasking skills. This position is considered a field position.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Conduct various types of surveying including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivisions, construction stakeouts, etc.
  • Oversee the daily operation of a survey crew
  • Interpret maps, plats, construction drawings and specifications
  • Document work performed and sketches
  • Adhere to company standards for processing and storing data
  • Perform various survey calculations
  • Organize and maintain survey documentation
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment
  • Communicate project status to Project Managers and clients
  • Research project information at the Registrar of Deeds
  • Prepare forms and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Skills/Experience:

  • Construction Staking experience required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 5+ years experience working in construction required
  • MDOT experience preferred
