We are now looking for a Technical & Quality Manager to strengthen our team in Romania.

The Role:

As Technical & Quality Manager (TQM), you will be at the heart of our technical excellence. This is a **high-impact leadership role **, combining technical authority, quality governance and operational support.

You will act as the country’s technical reference point for inspection activities, while representing Intertek towards accreditation bodies and national authorities.

Your contribution will be key in ensuring compliance, consistency and continuous improvement across all operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and perform inspection activities within your area of expertise
  • Oversee and coach field inspectors, ensuring high technical standards
  • Drive the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
  • Act as the main point of contact for accreditation bodies and regulatory authorities
  • Plan and lead internal audits, supporting external audits and certifications
  • Ensure alignment with technical standards, procedures and methodologies
  • Develop and maintain the competence of inspection personnel
  • Provide expert technical guidance to operational teams
  • Support tender evaluations and client technical requirements
  • Work closely with Operations and Business Development on project execution
  • Manage technical issues, complaints and improvement initiatives
  • Report on technical performance and quality metrics to senior leadership

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field
  • Proven experience in industrial inspection
  • NDT Level II certifications (VT, MT, UT, RT) are required
  • Qualification as Welding Inspector (e.g. CSWIP, IWI or equivalent)
  • Strong and practical knowledge of the PED Directive (Pressure Equipment Directive)
  • Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems and accreditation standards
  • Experience interfacing with accreditation bodies and regulatory authorities
  • Strong knowledge of inspection processes and technical documentation
  • Leadership mindset: you can guide, challenge and develop technical teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English and ability to operate in an international environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
