Temporary Landfill Laborer

Tehama County Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscious Temporary General Laborerto join our team inRed Bluff, CA!

This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The schedule will beWednesday - Sunday 8AM - 4:30PMwith occasional overtime.Starting pay will be $23.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greeting and directing customers at the self-haul pad.

• Sorting out recyclables and electronics from loads.

• Picking up loose trash throughout the site.

• Heavy liftingthroughout shift.

• Traffic management.

• Working outside in all weather conditions.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate heavy equipment and larger vehicles.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.

• Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise

• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
