Avon Ruby is a family-run Building company specialising in refurbishments, renovations, and Reactive emergency works. We are looking for someone with the right skill set to join our small team to work within our Building Project division.

Main Responsibilities:

• Preparation of surfaces prior to tiling
• Wall and floor tiling (ceramic, porcelain, slate)
  
• Plumbing - tap changes, waste pipe repairs, basin and toilet replacements.
  
• Procurement of materials and equipment to carry out works.
• Completion of worksheets
• Take pride in doing everything you do to the highest standard
• A good communicator, who understands the importance of customer service.
  
• Ability to perform Carpentry work including building stud work/walls and niche alcoves
• Ability to install and grout Porcelain/Ceramic tiles to a high standard
• Limited Plastering/skimming experience to make good walls
  
• Ability to apply Silicone and Mastic to a high standard
• Correspondence: Liaising with the Office team to ensure effective communication
  

Candidate Requirements:

• English speaking
• Have your own tools
• Have your own Vehicle for transportation
• Good written English
• Plumbing experience
• Experience in tiling Kitchens and Bathrooms
• Experience laying various size Porcelain/ Ceramic Wall and floor tiles
• Proven track record of outstanding work
  
• Good communication skills
• The ability to perform physical manual labour
• Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
• Possess a great work ethic and is a self-motivated individual
• Pride in your own working standards
• Team player with the ability to work autonomously in a demanding environment
• Time management skills with the ability to focus, organise and prioritise workload

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• English speaking

• Plumbing experience
• Experience in Tiling Kitchens and Bathrooms (Floors and Walls)
  
• Experience installing Wedi board/ Waterproof boarding prior to Tiling
• Experience laying Detra mating/ latexing floors
• Experience applying Ply wood to flooring
• Experience laying Underfloor Electrical heating mating ready for Electricians to connect and test
• Removing existing bathroom suites in the correct manner
  
• Ability to perform Carpentry work including building stud work/walls and niche alcoves
• Ability to install and grout Porcelain/Ceramic tiles to a high standard
• Limited Plastering/skimming experience to make good walls
  
• Ability to apply Silicone and Mastic to a high standard
• The ability to perform physical manual labouring duties
  
• Hold a full UK manual driving Licence and be confident driving and working in and around London
  
• Good communication skills
  
• Strong Customer service skills (Customer facing skills)
• Ability to work under pressure
  
• Ability to manage own workload
• A punctual timekeeper
• Willingness to undertake work and serve our clients in a great manner

Desirable:

• NVQ qualification in Tiling/ Multi trader skill set
• CSCS Card
