About this role
Our client, a privately held group of companies operating in Investment Services, Fund Administration, Online Investing, and Payments, is looking for a Trading Desk Officer to join their team.
This is an office-based role with shift hours, offering a salary of up to €30K.
Role & Responsibilities
Handle and settle trades across equities, fixed income instruments, funds, and money market products in both domestic and international markets
Support trading operations on the Malta Stock Exchange, including order reconciliation activities
Set up and maintain security records within trading platforms
Process the transfer of securities between accounts
Assist with IPO-related administration and shareholder services, including AGMs and loyalty programmes
Maintain bond and fund lists and upload daily market commentary
Provide operational assistance to internal departments
Contribute to MiFID II reporting, market abuse surveillance (local and international), and other regulatory obligations
Keep standard operating procedures up to date
Education, Skills & Experience
A qualification in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field
Fluency in English at a C2 or native level, both written and spoken
Understanding of financial markets, including equities and fixed income instruments
A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure
Ability to work effectively within a team and support multiple internal stakeholders
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Understanding of regulatory concepts such as MiFID II and market abuse is considered an asset
Willingness to work flexible hours as required
About the Role
Salary up to €30K + KPI bonus
Shift-based schedule (no night shifts), weekdays including public holidays
Morning and evening shifts, with start times from 8:30 and end times up to 22:00
