A Dance, Tumbling & Cheer Instructor is responsible for championing an excellent and engaging classroom that delivers a boomerang experience for the student and family. This role is responsible for detailed preparation, team building, goal setting, event knowledge, production participation, and prompt communication.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver curriculum and instruction to students with purpose, passion, a willingness to do “whatever it takes” to help students succeed, while keeping students’ safety at the forefront
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective whole group practices, small group team building, and individualized learning activities
  • Enforce classroom dress code and other rules
  • Take attendance and start and end class on time, every time
  • Come to class prepared with lesson plans prepared, organized, music selected, etc
  • Track data when asked to determine the effectiveness of classroom instruction
  • Discuss, celebrate, and reinforce the company’s core values
  • Implement company-wide behavior management consistently with all students
  • Be accountable for students’ mastery of class curriculum and individual goals
  • Embrace feedback and constructive criticism in the spirit of constant improvement
  • Teach at least one birthday party or special event per year

  • Be reliable in attendance and give ample notice for absences
  • Find a sub if unable to cover an assigned shift

  • Demonstrate maturity, humility, professionalism, confidence, and a strong work ethic inside and outside the classroom
  • Excellent customer service skills and people skills
  • Able to connect and build trust with students of all ages
  • Outgoing, energetic, and positive
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a loud environment
  • Able to stand, demonstrate, and spot for entire class
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to clearly communicate with guests, students, instructors, and the YPAC Leadership Team
  • Completes tasks in an accurate and timely manner



Training and Professional Development

  • Season Kick-Off Team Training
  • YPAD Certified within the first 90 days of employment and renewed every 2 years
  • CPR Certified within the first 90 days of employment and renewed every 2 years
  • 12 hours of personal and professional development per calendar year
  • Attend workshops or educational courses as requested
  • Share information from personal and professional development with the team


Dress Code

  • Clean and tidy appearance
  • Clothes are clean and free of rips and stains
  • Words and logos cannot contain any inappropriate content
  • Midriffs must be covered
