VFX & AI Video Artist

We are seeking a visionary VFX & AI Video Artist with an unyielding critical eye for aesthetics, frame composition, and visual storytelling. In this role, you will bridge high-end VFX and traditional video post-production with cutting-edge generative AI workflows.

The ideal candidate understands that AI is a powerful tool for generation and speed, but achieving cinematic quality, seamless visual consistency, and flawless finishing requires strong human art direction and critical judgment.

Suitable candidates with extensive experience will be considered for a Senior role.

Portfolio Requirement

To be considered for this position, candidates MUST submit a video/design portfolio showing past work. This should showcase:

• Concept art, storyboards, 2D/3D visual design, or video VFX reels.
• AI-assisted video/image generation workflows combined with manual post-processing, paintovers, or compositing that demonstrate strong control over quality and style.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Art Direction & Curation: Apply a critical artistic eye to evaluate, filter, and refine AI-generated visual assets and video clips, ensuring strict stylistic alignment with project guidelines.
• Concepting & Storyboarding: Produce concept art, scene layouts, and detailed storyboard sketches according to direction from our Head of Production.
• Look Development & Mood: Design the overall visual tone, color grading, lighting, and UX/mood of video sequences based on project briefs.
• Production Pipeline Reference: Develop high-quality concept art, game/video flows, and asset references for our 3D, motion graphics, and game artists.
• VFX & Hybrid Integration: Merge AI tools with traditional video post-production and compositing techniques to deliver polished, production-ready video content.
  
  

Requirements

• Critical Art Eye: Exceptional instinct for visual quality, color theory, lighting, frame composition, and temporal consistency in video.
• AI & Video Workflow Expertise: Hands-on experience with AI generation tools (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Runway, Pika, ComfyUI, or similar) paired with strong manual retouching and cleanup skills.
• Digital Illustration & Design: Strong digital drawing/sketching skills with high proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Storyboarding & Concept Art: Proven experience in storyboarding and concept art creation for video, animation, or game production.
• Field Experience: 2+ years of relevant video/VFX production experience is preferred. Fresh graduates with exceptional portfolios and drawing skills are welcome to apply.
• Bonus Skills: Knowledge of Unreal Engine, After Effects, Premiere, or 3D software (Blender, Maya) is a major advantage.
• Communication: Good team collaboration skills. Fluency in English and Chinese is preferred.
