About the Role:

Heartbeat Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our virtual clinic Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST.

As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you’ll be a key member of our Clinical Care Team, supporting patients and providers in a fully remote environment. You’ll ensure smooth virtual visits, accurate documentation, and a compassionate patient experience all while helping shape the future of digital heart care.

Patient care:

Prepare patients for physician visits

Connect with patients, ensure video and audio work, and add interpreters as needed

Obtain signed telehealth consent forms

Obtain photos of insurance cards

Clinical duties:

Prepare patients for physicians

Take medical information over the phone

Document medical history, medications, dosing, and primary complaint

Obtain baseline vitals and verify baseline labs

Conduct KCCQ survey

Administrative tasks:

Answer incoming calls

Engage in confirmation calls for upcoming appointments

Perform chart checks and engage in chart prep prior to patient visits

Schedule follow up appointments and labs

Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation

Execute policies that promote the best patient experience

About You:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required

Experience: 1-3 Years of experience as a Medical Assistant to include providing virtual care to patients

Skills: Exceptional people skills, a GREAT communicator, outstanding organization and multitasking, and detail-oriented with a focus on process

Traits: Self-driven and excited to support new technology, a fast learner that is flexible and adaptable with a passion for delivering an outstanding patient experience
