About the Role

The Estimator / Project Manager – Fire Alarms is a dual-function leadership role responsible for estimating, quoting, and end-to-end delivery of fire alarm minor works projects, including remedial works arising from inspections, compliance requirements, and customer requests.

You will be supervising a small team and passing on your experience and knowledge to ensure all onsite work is to the highest standards. You will plan you week to ensure you are also completing estimates to keep the work pipeline full.

This role is not for the faint hearted. It is very busy, and your organisational skills need to be top notch!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates and quotations for fire alarm minor works projects.
  • Project manage approved works from acceptance through to completion and handover.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to alarm technicians and supervisors.
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, suppliers, compliance teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Follow all company ISO, H&S, and operational procedures, contributing to a strong safety-first culture.
  • Seek ways to enhance estimating efficiency and market competitiveness.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • 3-5 years of fire protection experience, including estimating and project management
  • Strong knowledge of NZ Fire Standards and Compliance requirements
  • Project planning and organisation
  • Accountability and ownership
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • Proficient Excel and general computer skills including industry software.
  • Hold the right to work in Aotearoa/New Zealand

In addition, you will bring excellent communication and organisational skills, combined with a customer-focused mindset and safety firs leadership skills. You are self-motivated, solutions oriented, and take full accountability for your work, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
