SUMMARY OF POSITION
This integral roleassistswith managing correspondence, scheduling, and records,assistswith reports and department communications, and supports special projects that touch everything from emergency response readiness to community outreach. This position works under the general guidance of the Fire Chief, with room to use your own judgment and initiative in dailytasks, andtake on other related duties as they arise. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This is a full-time, in-person position with a typical Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. A 9/80 alternative work schedule with alternating Fridays or Mondays off, may be available.
Selectionwill be based on overallqualifications, skills testing(if applicable), and an interview process.The final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference checkcommensurateto the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) yearsofexperiencein an office setting
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to type50 words per minute
Four (4)or more years of experience in a fast-paced environment
Intermediate level ofproficiencywithallMS Office products such asPowerPoint,Outlook, Word, Excel, andSharePoint
Experience in local governmentor thepublic sector
Experiencefulfilling public records requests
