AS736 - M W F Meal Prep Chef - Upper East Side

Overview

A lovely family on the Upper East Side is seeking a chef to handle meal prep for the full week, with deliveries on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The main focus of this role is the family's 1.5-year-old daughter- the family is seeking a chef who has experience and is very comfortable with preparing foods for different developmental stages. The family wants their child to have an expansive palate, so meals will be whole foods of various cuisines, prepared in a way that is appropriate for her age. If the chef is able to prepare additional food for the parents that would be excellent as well, but the child is the main focus and the chef should be very familiar preparing food for a young child. The family may request occasional live cooking, but generally are fine with drop off. This position is currently temporary, running until December 15- for the right person, the family is open to a year-round arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food to the family on the Upper East Side on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
• Prepare enough food for a 1.5-year-old, with large portion sizes so that an adult can eat with her (largely for demonstrative purposes)
• Explore and include a variety of whole foods, keeping size of bites and textures in mind with regards to different stages of toddler development
• Some meal preparation for adults who enjoy a variety of international cuisines with no dietary restrictions
• Sourcing meats from the family's vendor, and sourcing vegetables and fruits organically and seasonally
• Kitchen cleanup when working from the family's kitchen
• If cooking on site, the chef must be willing to work around the no-noise window from 12-3:30pm

• Warm and friendly
• Flexible and adaptable
• Clean and organized- the chef should expect to clean up after themselves if cooking in the home

Requirements

• US work authorization
• Local to NYC- the family is not willing to consider candidates looking to relocate
• Experience and comfort cooking for children, and preparing foods for toddlers in different developmental stages
• Open to a temporary role until December 15, with the option for a year-round position for the right candidate
• Available for drop-offs 3x per week, ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, leaving enough food for the entire week

Salary and Benefits

• $50/hr.+++ or day rate depending on agreed upon schedule and duties
