EH234 - Part-Time Laundress - Upper East Side

Overview

A private family on the Upper East Side is seeking a skilled, experienced laundress. This is a part-time position, twice per week, for approximately 8 hours total. The family has two dogs, so the candidate must be comfortable working around them. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work and can maintain high standards in the household. The position is to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• All ironing for the household including bedding, household linens, and clothing for the family of four
• Clothing must be properly sorted, reading labels and care instructions carefully
• Steaming
• Pressing
• Ironing
• Skilled pressing of shirts, linens, and fine fabrics.
• Sewing skills are a plus

Qualifications

• Proactive and able to work independently

Requirements

• Extensive and proven experience with ironing, steaming, and specialty garment care
• Have a solid understanding of fabric types and proper care methods including silk, leather, fine linens, and couture pieces
• Excellent at folding neatly, ironing, pressing, and maintaining organized closets and drawers
• Comfortable working in a home with dogs
• Excellent communication skills
• Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

• $35-$45 per hour
