The Role

In this role, the successful candidate will work directly with the founder to accelerate the evolution of systems originally built in-house, with a focus on scaling backend infrastructure and delivering critical features that support front-line recruiting teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience (with production-grade systems)

• Strong expertise in Python and Django

• Experience building applications that leverage GenAI APIs (e.g. OpenRouter, OpenAI, etc.)

• Uses Cursor/Claude by default and has built strong workflows to balance quality with productivity

• Strong communication skills and ability to work across time zones

• Experience working independently in a remote-first environment

Bonus Points

• Background in a high-growth startup environment

• Experience mentoring or helping other engineers grow

• Familiarity with implementing testing frameworks to ensure code quality

• Full-stack development experience in addition to backend expertise
