Chef de Partie (Cook A)

As a Chef de Partie, you will be supporting the Chef delivering consistently high-quality food and handling purchase orders. You will be responsible for a specific section of the kitchen, preparing high-quality food that meets the Chef's standards, and ensuring that your station is sanitary and well-stocked.

What you’ll do

• Prepare specific food items and meal components at your station
• Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superior to complete the daily tasks
• Collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and service
• Keep your area of the kitchen safe and sanitary
• Stocktake and order supplies for your station
• Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times
• Ensure the ingredients in the dish are the same as what is stated on the menu
• Operate and maintain all department equipment and report of malfunctioning
• Check periodically expiry dates and proper storage of food items in the section
• Improve your food preparation methods based on feedback
• Assist in other areas of the kitchen when required

Requirements

• Proven experience as Chef de Partie
• A culinary degree
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
• Ability to work in a team
• High energy, ability to work under pressure, good organizational skills and interpersonal skills
