Commis Chef (Cook B)

As a Commis Chef, you will assist the Chef with tasks related to meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, and safety and sanitation. You will prepare and make simple food and demonstrate and help maintain high levels of service that consistently exceed the expectations of our guests.

What you’ll do

• Monitor kitchen equipment and report issues to superiors
• Assist in the food preparation process
• Continually develop culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals
• Measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings
• Wash, chop, and cut fruit, meat, and vegetable items
• Assess inventory and request resupply when necessary
• Plate meal items under the Chef’s supervision
• Dispose of spoiled items and adhere to sanitation policies

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role
• A culinary degree
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team
• High energy, ability to work under pressure, good organizational skills and interpersonal skills
