Job Summary:**

SWIFT Japan Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to drive business growth, manage key client relationships, and expand market share within the Japanese financial services industry. This role is crucial in shaping and executing our commercial strategy, ensuring SWIFT's continued leadership and innovation in secure financial messaging.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies aligned with Swift's global objectives and local market dynamics.
  • Become a trusted partner to key and strategic financial institutions in Japan, helping them enhance their customers’ experience across the business areas where Swift can add value.
  • Build, manage, and deepen strong relationships with key clients, including financial institutions, corporates, and market infrastructures.
  • Identify growth opportunities and key pain points in financial institutions’ businesses, and propose strategic solutions by leveraging Swift’s capabilities, products, and expertise.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs, and share market-specific insights across relevant teams within the company to strengthen our engagement with strategic and large accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, product, and other functions across the companyto develop and execute integrated and effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Serve as a role model and senior member of the team, sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and mentoring junior colleagues to support their professional growth and development.
  • Represent Swift at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all SWIFT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in commercial management, business development, or sales within the financial services technology sector, preferably with exposure to financial messaging or payment systems. Experience in Financial Institution is preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives toward the large and complex financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders in financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese financial market, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills in both English and Japanese (native or business fluent proficiency required).
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate market insights into actionable commercial plans.
  • Experience in mentoring the junior members within a team and help develop a high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
