Consultant Clinical Microbiologist-Government Hospitals

The Consultant Clinical Microbiologist is responsible for providing expert clinical and laboratory oversight of microbiology services, supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. The role involves interpretation of microbiological investigations, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, infection prevention and control support, antimicrobial stewardship, laboratory quality management, and consultation with clinical teams.

The Consultant will ensure that microbiology services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with recognized clinical standards, UAE healthcare regulations, laboratory accreditation requirements, and institutional policies.

Requirements

Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent) from a recognized institution, where required for the applicable licensing category.

Recognized postgraduate qualification in Clinical Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Laboratory Medicine, Pathology, or an equivalent specialty.

Relevant fellowship, board certification, or specialist qualification recognized by the applicable UAE health authority.

Valid UAE Consultant License or eligibility for consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP, as applicable.

Current professional certifications and training relevant to the position.
